This is a single page story for a young poet dreaming of writing a poem inside a train.

This story derives from an actual poem I have written long ago and decided to convert it to comic. This is also the case for tthe stories The Player and The Trial. The initial thought was to leave them without color and to use them as illustrations-poems in a collection of poems i was working with. This project was abandoned and therefore i added color and left them as standalone comics.

The texts are in greek. I used Photoshop for coloring and lettering.

This is a comic about young Leonardo da Vinci and his struggle to create a flying machine and fly. The story is based on an earlier short novel which was divided into two parts: one with an interior monologue (the thoughts of Leonardo) and one with a more “objective” narrative technique completing the story. The comic is also divided into two parts, separated by color (green and blues against grey colors), space (outside vs inside) and text placement (boxes for thoughts in the first part and bubbles for dialogues in the latter one). The last page differs as it symbolizes a cyclic return to first part through Leonardo’s dream.

The story is completely fictional and has no historical accuracy. Leonardo didn’t live with his mother since he was 5 years old (instead, he was living with his uncle in Vinci). It was a deliberate change, because I thought that a scene with his mother’s fear in front of her injured son would be a strong one, and because countryside was a more suited place for the story to take place (as it would be much more difficult for someone to make secretly a flying machine in the city and carry it all the way to the hills without anyone taking notice).

Sketches were made by hand while color and text were added afterwards digitally. There was a struggle for realistic coloring (textures, lights and shadows etc). However, I think that the most important thing I had in mind while creating the comic was its layout and how it connects with narration and its rhythm.

Othello is a comic story happening in Italy at 1300 (mostly in Florence and Rome –even though there are plenty of references in other parts of Europe). The two main heroes are Othello and Dante and this is an era when in Florence the battle between black and white guelphs is thriving. And let’s not forget the everlasting shadow of Rome and Vatican, with Pope Boniface VIII pulling the strings behind the scenes in order to abolish democracy in Florence.

Alongside with the political conflicts in Florence (where Dante plays a major role) we hear the story of Othello, before his arrival in Venice and his becoming the hero of another (far more famous and great) story…

This is the first part (of a total three) of the prologue with the title Imazighen, a word used by the Berbers to describe themselves and literally means “free people”.

In this issue we see the first encounter between Dante and Othello. It is the summer of 1300 and Dante is member of the council of the 6 priori that govern the city. Florence (and the council) are divided into two sides: white guelphs (with Dante as a prominent member) and black guelphs (with exiled Corso Donati as their leader and the support of the Vatican behind the scenes)

This is a 4pages story for the enthronement of a new King who deceives the citizens of his country. It was a story I sent to the 10th competition of the comic magazine "9" (summer 2010). The story was given a certificate of distinction and was exhibited with all the other awards.

The texts are in greek. I used Photoshop for coloring and lettering.

Underneath the gallery of this comic's pictures I have added an online collection of some of my short comics, including: Rear Window, The Train, The Stranger, Let Us Describe, Dreamcatcher I and II, and Once Upon a Time.

This is a 5pages story for a comic writer getting trapped into a dream. It's te second dreamcatcher story (the first one you can see it here). The main inspiration behind the story are Israel's bombing of gaza and police violence in the protests in Athens after the murder of A. Grigoropoulos by a policeman.

All texts are in greek. I used Photoshop for coloring and lettering.

This is a 7pages story for a boy getting trapped into a dream. I wanted each page to have a dominant color. The two grey pics are used as an intro (falling into sleep) and closure (waking up) and most probably are closer to real life. The original plan was to have many other stories of people trapped in dreams, but so far I've created only one more.

The story was published in "9" magazine the spring of 2008.

All texts are in greek. I used Photoshop for coloring and lettering.

Underneath the gallery of this comic's pictures I have added an online collection of some of my short comics, including: Rear Window, The Train, The Stranger, Let Us Describe, Dreamcatcher I and II, and Once Upon a Time.

Summer of 1969, Italy. A year after May '68, FIAT workers began a dynamic and unmediated strike against their powerful boss. Their struggle marked the beginning of a decade of workers' and students' mobilizations and the rise of the Autonomy movement. It was characterized by many as the last invasion of the working class into the sky. Last ... let's hope until the next one ...
